TO MEASURE YOUR WRIST FOR BRACELET/BANGLE SIZES
Ordering bracelets is easy when you know your correct wrist size. When you order a bracelet, I want it to fit you properly! These simple instructions will guide you on how to measure your wrist properly.
Using a flexible measuring tape (such as one used for sewing), measure just above (towards elbow) the wrist bone, then add 1/2" to 1" depending on how tight you like your bracelets to fit (see suggestions on the chart shown below). That is the size bracelet you would wear. The "average" women's bracelet size is 7 inches for a 6-1/2 inch wrist.
Ifyou don't have a tape measure handy, use a strip of paper or thin string, and mark it where it overlaps on your wrist. Then lay the strip flat to measure up to the mark using any ruler.
The inside diameter of a bracelet as a closed circle is the issue for bracelet sizing, not the length of the bracelet when opened and laid flat. A tape measure, strip of paper, or small string is not bulky, so the inner circumference is virtually the same as the length when laid flat.
To fit, a bracelet much be at least a little larger than the outer circumference of your wrist (or ankle, for anklets) so that it will fit.
Best suggestions I recommend are as follows:
Comfort Fit: Add 3/4" to 1"
Loose Fit: Add 1 1/4" (Male sizes usually add 1” to 1 1/2”)
So you’re asking yourself, “Do I want a comfort or loose fit”? Well, that really will vary between each individual. If you are buying a delicate bracelet with a thin chain, I suggest a comfort fit. Most other bracelets should have a comfort fit except when buying large or thick heavy cuffs and bangles. It's best to buy large bracelets with a loose fit so you don't feel like you are suffocating your wrist.
